Haifeng Wang, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering department at Mississippi State University. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2019 and 2015, respectively, and B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Southeast University in China in 2013.

Dr. Wang’s research interests focus on the effective decision-making and intelligent control of complex engineering systems through data analytics, artificial intelligence, and optimization. The methodology includes ensemble learning, neural network optimization, parallel and distributed learning, real-time optimization, heuristics, image analysis, etc. The application area includes warehouse management, supply chain optimization, robotics, computer-aided diagnosis, surface mount technology, etc.

His publications have appeared in journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering, Expert Systems with Applications and conference proceedings, such as IEEE International Conference on Healthcare Informatics (IEEE ICHI), IISE Annual Conference Proceedings, International Conference on Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing (FAIM). He is a member of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). Dr. Wang is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a member of Alpha Pi Mu.
