Bill Burgos

Dr. Burgos is the former Head of Strength and Conditioning for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and the New York Knicks. In this role, he oversaw the development and implementation of the team's strength and conditioning programs and sports science.

Dr. Burgos has obtained two Master of Science degrees. His first M.S. was obtained from Austin Peay State University in Exercise Science, where he also received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. His second M.S. was obtained from A.T. Still University in Human Movement, where he received his Doctorate in Leadership and Organizational Behavior with an emphasis on Electronic Medical Records. Dr. Burgos also holds a certificate in Data Analytics from Cornell University. During his time in the NBA, Dr. Burgos has served on the Jr. NBA Leadership Council, the NBA Sports Science Committee, Kinduct Technologies' Scientific Advisory Board, and the NBA Gatorade Advisory Council. He was a National Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association member and served as President from 2015-2018. Dr. Burgos currently serves on the Booz Allen Tactical Leadership Board.

In addition, Dr. Burgos is currently certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Dr. Burgos is also FMS (Functional Movement Screen) certified, an EXOS Performance Specialist, MWOD certified, and PRI (Postural Restoration Institute) certified in myokinematics.

Dr. Burgos served 13 years in the Army and Air Force. From 1994-98, he served as a law enforcement officer in the Air Force. He spent the next four years (1998-2001) in the Air Force Reserves as an emergency medical technician. From 2001-04, Dr. Burgos was on Army active duty as a petroleum specialist with two deployments – to Afghanistan in 2002 and Iraq in 2003. He then returned to the Air Force Reserves from 2004-07 as a medical technician. A self-described "Army Brat," Dr. Burgos was born in Wiesbaden, West Germany. He and his wife, Noemi, reside in Lake Nona, Florida.
